Our family switches to Automatic Washing Machine

By Ramona Jessica Nadong - March 28, 2018

If you have been my reader for quite some time, you may happen across my story wherein we have to fire our inefficient house helper because she doesn't go to work every day (as we have agreed) and she's always late. If not, you may check my blog post here.

One of the struggles of being alone with a toddler and managing the entire household is laundry. Mind you, we're just a family of 3 but we change clothes like crazy because my mom is sweating like a pig, Edmund was of course, prone to dirt and I bathe at least 2 to 3 times a day because it's hard.

So basically, it's hard to manage the household, do the laundry, work and take care of my toddler. Mind you, my mom works full time so Edmund and I were always left in the house.

One of the temporary solutions we thought of at that time was to hire someone to do the laundry for us. But then I realized that it's not saving us money imagine we have to pay her 500 pesos every week, the washing machine was running all day and the water is overflowing at times.

So my mom and I decided to buy an automatic washing machine, we may pay extra because the model we chose costs around 17,000 but then we realized that we will save in the longer time.

How this changed our life?
  • This helps cut cost in electricity and water bills, instead of spending the entire day of doing the laundry, we're now doing our laundry for only 2 to 3 hours.
  • This helps us save time. We can multi-task while doing the laundry, I can do my work and study and also take care of Edmund while the washing machine does its job.
  • Saves energy. No more heavy hand washing (especially on white garments) the only work I need to do is hang our clothes dry and fold it afterwards.
  • No mess. Gone these big basins and tons of washing baskets because you will only need one.
  • Dries clothes fast. Since the automatic machine has a spin dry feature, this will easily make the clothes dry which is ideal for rainy seasons.
I know that this might cost you more but I can honestly say that buying this literally saves our life, there was a point when we're still looking for a helper that my body went completely blacked out due to tiredness because it's just too much.

Can't afford to pay the amount of a one-time payment? Why don't you opt for a Home Credit or EON wherein all you have to do is fill up the application form and hand them the down payment (I'm not really sure if EON requires a downpayment) for us, we hand over almost 7,000 for the payment and the remaining was divided for 12 months of payment.

Disclaimer: This is not a paid post or a sponsored blog, I just wanted to share how automatic washing machine changed our lifestyle because my mom was really sceptical of buying this thinking that this is just a waste of money.
